A unique collection of photographs by Keith Bernstein
In 1994 Nelson Mandela's private secretary approved a request from Keith Bernstein to photograph Mandela.
This was the start of a project over 14 years with extraordinary access to Mandela, traveling with him during and after his presidency and documenting his daily life.
At times, Keith was one of hundreds of international photographers and journalists at huge public events.
On other occasions, he was the only photographer present with Mandela in the living room of his official residence at Genadendal, or on his private helicopter.
This is a unique collection of Mandela photographs, the last of which was taken in April 2009 in Cape Town.
